When A Pointless Flash Animation Is Just Right
We're all familiar with pointless Flash animations that serve only as barriers to getting to useful web content. But I recently stumbled across an instructive example of a "pointless" Flash animation that works: It's on the web site of the musician Adem:

Strip Away The Production In Political Ads
I've been thinking about the possibilities of stripping away the manipulative soft-focus junk that so many political ads are wrapped in, and instead taking a documentary approach. Along comes this YouTube link (which I found via Night Light), to a political ad made by John F. Kennedy when he was a Senator running for President, showing that that very idea worked great in 1960, and it works great now. It's just Kennedy talking to you, the viewer, telling you in some detail about his plan for health care:
